Information for Advertisers

We are excited to announce our "Team Up" program that joins together the Connecticut Cancer Foundation (CCF), Essex Printing and Events Magazines and new business partners - all to assist Connecticut cancer patients.

Here's how it works:

1. Advertise in Events Magazines. When your business places an advertisement in any Events Magazine published in 2020, 10% of the gross proceeds of each advertising sale will be donated to CCF.

2. Promotional Items Advantage. Do you need hats, mugs, pens, t-shirts, coasters, etc.? As a member you will receive priority pricing for promotional items. In addition, for 2020 a portion of the gross proceeds will be donated by Essex to CCF.

3. Receive Printing Discounts. By joing Team Up, you will enjoy 10% discounts on any printing with Essex Printing for 2020.

4. Thank You. Your business will be recognized as a Team Up member on our websites, in the Events Magazines, and in our social media posts.

First, review the town(s) and quarters where you would like to advertise in our Events Schedule.

Then, advertising in Events Magazines is as simple as 1, 2, 3.

  1. Choose the ad size
  2. Choose the town or towns where you want to market your business
  3. Fill out the order form and contact your sales rep.

Ad prices include a concept ad with one revision. If more changes are required an additional $25 per revision will be charged to the advertiser.

  1. Who is my sales representative and how do I contact them?

    Sales representation is divided by town. If you want to advertise in Clinton, Essex, Madison or Westbrook please contact Ward Feirer. If you want to advertise in East Lyme, Old Lyme, or Old Saybrook, please contact Betty Martelle. For Chester, East Haddam, East Hampton, East Lyme and Haddam contact 860-767-9087.

  2. What type of digital files can I use and is resolution important?

    We accept digital files for both Mac and PC including tif, eps, .pdf or jpg files as well as Publisher, Word, Quark, and InDesign. The file resolution is important and should be no less than 300dpi to achieve a crisp, professional ad.

  3. Can I fax in my ad?

    Yes, but we will still need an original version (hard copy or e-mail). Unlike a newspaper which uses a low resolution image, our print requires high resolution images (300dpi). That is why the ads and photos look so crisp in Events Magazines. Please contact your sales representative if you require more assistance.

  4. What sizes are the ads?

    Ad sizes are 1/6 vertical 2-1/2 x 4-3/4, quarter page 3-1/2 x 4-3/4, half page 7-1/2 x 4-3/4 or 9-1/4 x 3-1/2, and full page 7-1/2 x 9-3/4. See our advertising chart for actual ad sizes.

  5. What is the cost of a display ad?

    You will reach all the households and post office box holders in your town with just one ad! Low CPM. Contact your sales rep or call 860-767-9087 for cost-effective rates.

  6. Can I get a discount for advertising in multiple towns?

    Yes! Please contact your sales representative for more information.

  7. How do I pay?

    You have two options:

  1. You can prepay for the ad via check or credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express. Payment can be given to your sales rep. or mailed to Essex Printing, PO Box 205, Centerbrook, CT 06409.
  2. OR, you can be billed after the issued is printed and mailed. We will require a credit card number on file. If payment hasn't been received within 30 days of billing your credit card number will be billed for the amount. NO PARTIAL PAYMENTS will be accepted.
  1. How often do you publish each magazine?

    Each town's magazine is published 4 times a year.

  2. In which towns can I advertise?
  3. There are some advertisers who advertise in just the town their business is located in, and others who advertise in multiple towns. Your sales rep can help you determine where to spend your advertising dollars.

  4. How do I decide between a black and white ad and a full color ad?

    Your sales rep can help you determine how to spend your advertising dollars. Some advertisers will start with a full color full page ad to highlight their business in town. Others who wish to spread their advertising dollars may elect to use a black and white ad. Your sales rep will assist you in making the best decision for your company.

  5. I need help with my advertising campaign and budget. Can you help?

    Absolutely! Our sales reps have helped numerous small businesses in your town. We can assist you in developing not only an advertising campaign, but a marketing and printing plan utilizing the services of Essex Printing.

  6. Are you affiliated with Essex Printing Company in Centerbrook CT?

    Yes. They are the publisher of all the Events Magazines. They are also a FULL service commercial printer. They print business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, catalogs, etc. In addition, should you wish to mass mail an item, they specialize in fulfillment services.
