Haddam is located in Middlesex County in the lower Connecticut River Valley. It is home to Haddam Meadows and Cockaponset State Forest and is the only town in Connecticut divided by the Connecticut River. Incorporated in October, 1668 as Hadham, Haddam contains five villages: Hidden Lake, Higganum, Shailerville, Tylerville and Haddam Neck, located on the east side of the river.
